Why Mitski is the Greatest Musician of the Modern Age
Mitski's take on music might be the greatest music still being actively made.
Mitsuki Laycock (yikes… bad last name), better known by her stage name of Mitski is an American-Japanese singer performing some the greatest indie rock/art pop music of this generation.
My personal favorite Mitski song Washing Machine Heart is truly a work of art that transcends the modern era of lazy pop trash.
”Toss your dirty shoes in my washing machine heart baby tear it up inside”
The musical genius behind this kind of lyricism is truly unmatched in the modern age. The amount of hidden layers behind this one sentence alone is enough to prove her high IQ of 140. Washing Machine Heart is by far her greatest work as the rest of her music is bad. This single finds itself having the level of production necessary to make her music bearable.
All this being said, Mitski unfortunately is a misandric, bigoted hater. On top of this, Mitski was accused of sexual abuse back in 2019, whether or not this is true is up to you to decide.
Mitski Denies Sexual Abuse Allegations
Overall, I give Ms. Laycock’s song Washing Machine Heart a 9/10. However, the rest of her discography is a solid 5/10.
